TSU PATCHWORK PLAYERS BRING COMEDY

\nThe players wi ll present the hilarious comedy\, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. The play is written by Alan Ball\, who is best known for writing the A cademy Award-winning movie American Beauty as well as television shows Six Feet Under and True Blood.
\n“During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville\, Tennessee estate\, five re luctant\, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom\, e ach with her own reason to avoid the proceedings… As the afternoon wears o n\, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in thi s wickedly funny\, irreverent and touching celebration of the women’s spir it\,” states Dramatists Play Service. We quickly learn of the bridesmaids’ mutual disdain for the bride\, Tracy. Despite their differences\, the bri desmaids discover that they have more in common with each other than they do with the bride. Through discussions of life\, love\, sex\, drugs\, reli gion\, and marriage\, the bridesmaids begin to connect their lives as they share stories on what it means to be a woman\, the horror of their brides maid dresses\, and much more.
\nRogersville welcomes the cast and cr ew of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress to the playhouse. The sho w is directed by ETSU theatre student\, Hunter Roberts. Appearing in the c ast are Hannah Hasch\, Camielle Reed\, Grey Williamson\, Chelsea Kinser\, Ashley King and Teague Quillen.
\nFive Women Wearing the Same Dr ess will be performed Friday and Saturday\, April 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday\, April 15 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for general adm ission and $10 for students and seniors (65+). The play is rated PG-13.
\n“This is a great opportunity for Rogersville Playhouse\,” says Kathl een Buttolph\, director of last season’s Seussical the Musical. “ The playhouse aims to be a space that encourages regional theater producti ons and theatre arts education for all ages.
