DESCRIPTION:<p>GREENEVILLE – Due to popular demand\, the Nitty Gritty Dirt
Band is returning to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on Tuesday eveni
ng\, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m.</p>\n<p>“Often cited as a catalyst for an entir
e movement in country rock and American roots music\,” says Darrell Bryan\
, NPAC’s Executive Director\, “the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has a wide range
in their catalog that will please musicians and music lovers of many ages
and styles.”</p>\n<p>In 2011\, more than two decades after its release\,
the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s No. 1 hit single\, “Fishin’ in the Dark\,” st
ill set records. The classic song was certified GOLD for digital sales of
more than 500\,000 copies.</p>\n<p>“Fishin’ in the Dark” seems to have a l
ife of its own and has certainly become a signature song for us over the y
ears\,” said band member singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna. “We love that this s
ong has become a summer anthem and continues to appeal to new audiences ye
ar after year.” Other band members include drummer Jimmie Fadden\, keyboar
dist Bob Carpenter\, and multi-instrumentalist John McEuen.</p>\n<p>The Ni

jangles” reached the Top 10\, then later in the ‘70s\, they had more succe
ss in the Top 20 with “American Dream” and “Make A Little Magic.” In the ‘
80s\, chart success came on the country chart with three No. 1 Hits\, “Lon
g Hard Road” (The Sharecropper’s Dream)\, “Modern Day Romance\,” and “Fish
in In the Dark.”</p>\n<p>Beyond the hits\, one of their greatest triumphs
is the three-volume series “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” that paired the b
and with many of Nashville’s veteran hierarchy including Roy Acuff\, Johnn
y Cash and Earl Scruggs. The different sessions produced award-winning ren
ditions of classic country and southern gospel standards.</p>\n<p>Tickets
