 ohn Purifoy.  <em>Chronicles</em> is a major work spanning the Civil War i
 n three parts: the familiar battle and rallying songs\, the agony of suffe
 ring\, and the healing process as experienced by both sides. Many of the f
 olk songs of this time have been wonderfully arranged by the composer\, pl
 us the addition of beautiful new material.</p>\n<p>The first part of the c
 oncert also features music of the Civil War period by the  Choral Society\
 , the Chamber Chorale and the Carson Newman A Cappella Choir. The second h
 alf is the 40-minute <em>Chronicles of Blue and Gray</em> with full orches
