DESCRIPTION:<p>First Friday – Oct. 5 –  at the Blount Mansion beginning at 
 5 p.m. will  feature the Blount Impeachment Newspapers donated by the Walt
 er and Julia Pulliam Foundation.</p>\n<p>Blount Mansion will have a specia
 l display of newspaper articles featuring the Blount Family and the Blount
  Mansion Association donated to our collection by the Walter and Julia Pul
 liam Foundation.</p>\n<p>Light refreshments will be provided by the Blount
  Mansion Association and the<br />\ngarden will be open late.</p>\n<p>On d
 isplay will be William Blount’s Impeachment article from 1797. It was publ
 ished in the Massachusetts Mercury on July 14\, 1797. It contains a copy o
 f the letter by which William Blount was impeached by the United States Se
 nate.</p>\n<p>Blount Mansion is the home of William Blount\, Tennessee’s o
 nly signer of the United States Constitution\, as well as where the Tennes
 see State Constitution was drafted and signed. It will be an opportunity f
 or all Knoxville citizens to learn about their vital historical importance
  in the founding of our government via historic newspaper articles in our 
 resident collection.</p>\n<p>The Walter and Julia Pulliam Foundation\, who
  generously donated the newspaper collection\, has a collection of 900 his
 toric newspaper that date as far back to the 1600s. The resident collectio
 n is held at Lincoln Memorial University.</p>\n<p>Blount Mansion is Knoxvi
 lle’s only National Historic Landmark.</p>
