 ssee Historical Society’s Holiday Open House on Saturday\, Dec. 8.  Activi
 ties include live musical performances\, craft demonstrations\, free ornam
 ent and craft making for the kids\, cookies and hot cider. Shoppers will e
 njoy browsing the great selection of traditional gifts\, history books\, a
 nd children’s items\, as well as a selection of handmade primitive items b
 y Corn Cob Cove.</p>\n<p>Visitors are also invited to tour the new feature
  exhibitions <em>Common People in Uncommon Times: The Civil War Experience
  in Tennessee</em> and <em>In Death Not Divided: Civil War Tombstones and 
 the Stories They Tell\,</em> as well as the permanent exhibition <em>Voice
 s of the Land: The People of East Tennessee</em>.  All events are free and
  open to the public from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The Museum of East Tennessee Hi
