 HONY” YOUNG PEOPLE’S CONCERTS</strong></p>\n<p align='center'><strong></st
 rong>The <strong><a href='http://www.knoxvillesymphony.com/'>Knoxville Sym
 phony Orchestra</a></strong> will perform for over 10\,000 elementary scho
 ol students at their annual series of <strong>Young People’s Concerts</str
 ong> on <strong>October 23\, 24 and 25</strong> at the <strong>Knoxville C
 ivic Auditorium</strong>.  The KSO has hosted this series of Young People’
 s Concerts for over 60 years with the goal of introducing students in grad
 es 3-5 to live orchestral music.</p>\n<p> <strong>KSO Resident Conductor <
 a href='http://www.knoxvillesymphony.com/meet-the-orchestra/james-fellenba
 um/'>James Fellenbaum</a></strong> will conduct the concert\, themed <em>S
 cientific Symphony</em>\, for students from East Tennessee\, Southeast Ken
 tucky and Western North Carolina. Performances are: 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.
 m. on October 23 and 24 and at 9:30 a.m. on October 25.</p>\n<p>All 9:30 a
 .m. performances are sold out but availability remains for the 10:45 a.m. 
 shows. Tickets can be can purchased for $6 at the door. <em>Scientific Sym
 phony</em> is sponsored by The Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge a
 nd the Rotary Club of Knoxville.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Scientific Symphony
 </em> is an educational program designed for students grades three through
  five. Pieces featured will include excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Suite No.1
 \, Op.43\, <em>The Elephant </em>from Saint-Saëns’ <em>Carnival of the Ani
 mals</em>\, and <em>E.T. Adventures on Earth</em> by John Williams. A piec
 e written by KSO music director Lucas Richman\, <em>Finale\, </em>from The
  United Symphony\, will also be performed. Choir students from Central Hig
 h School\, Farragut High School and South Doyle High School will join the 
 KSO in performing excerpts from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and the “Hummin
 g Chorus” from <em>Madame Butterfly</em>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>“This year’s p
 rogram will follow the scientific method as we experiment with the <em>Sci
 entific Symphony</em>. Students will learn about the physics of sound incl
 uding concepts that are in the TCAP test\,” said KSO Director of Education
  and Community Partnerships</p>\n<p align='center'>\n<p>Jennifer Barnett. 
 “An on-screen oscilloscope will give students a visual representation of s
 ound as the orchestra plays pieces that demonstrate high and low pitch and
  loud and soft volumes.”</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>“The show will open with a huge
  chemical science display created by theAmericanMuseumof Science and Energ
 y inOak Ridge. By joining dynamic science concepts with dynamic classical 
 music we hope to introduce the symphony to thousands of young people in ou
