DESCRIPTION:<p>TOWNSEND - Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center will host i
 ts third annual Holiday Homecoming on Saturday\, Dec. 1\, from 10 a.m. to 
 4  p.m. with <em>free admission</em> for all on this date.</p>\n<p>The eve
 nt\, designed especially for families\, is made possible through generosit
 y of the East Tennessee Foundation.</p>\n<p>The Center experience includes
  the movie “Peace of Ground” and self-guided tours of two galleries and 12
  historic outbuildings\, as well as special programs just for the homecomi
 ng.</p>\n<p>Santa Claus will make a special appearance at Holiday Homecomi
 ng from 10 to 11:30 a.m.</p>\n<p>Also on hand – “Kids on the Block” Puppet
  Show\, an educational service of Child & Family Tennessee in Knoxville th
 at uses child-sized puppets to teach children about important topics such 
 as abuse\, bullying\, nutrition and drug prevention. For this event\, topi
 cs will include “Diversity” (holiday-themed) and “Safety.” Parents are enc
 ouraged to attend the 10:30\, 11:30 or 12:30 shows with their children.</p
 >\n<p align='center'>Music in the Center’s auditorium throughout the day i
 ncludes performances by the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club\; theSmoky Mounta
 in Flute Circle\; The Woodpickers\; the Rejoice! Choir fromKnoxville\; the
  Mountain Shadow String Band\; and the Spurgeon Boys.</p>\n<p> Children wi
 ll have the opportunity to make\, and take home\, button whizzers\, paper 
 angels\, a pine cone decoration\, a quilting ornament\, and a sweet gum ba
 ll ornament (substitutions may be made.)</p>\n<p>Historic demonstrations a
 re scheduled all day and include basket making\, corn husk dolls\, woodcar
 ving\, and making fudge over the open hearth.</p>\n<p>The HeritageCenteris
