DESCRIPTION:<p><em>New York Times </em>bestselling author -   <strong>Mary 
 Alice Monroe </strong></p>\n<p>will be in Kingsport\, Tennessee\, on Frida
 y\, May 18\, 2012 for a luncheon as part of her book tour for</p>\n<p alig
 n='center'><em>Beach House Memories</em>\, which is her new novel and the 
 prequel to her bestseller <em>The Beach House</em>. The event will be held
  at</p>\n<p align='center'><strong>MeadowView Conference Resort & Conventi
 on Center – Kingsport\, Tennessee</strong>\, and the luncheon will begin a
 t <strong>11:30 a.m.</strong></p>\n<p>  East Tennessee is very fortunate t
 o have Monroe visit the area as part of her book tour for a coastal-themed
  novel. The Mother’s Day themed literacy luncheon will <strong>benefit the
  Literacy Council of Kingsport (LCK)</strong>\, a ProLiteracy Worldwide af
 filiate and a member agency of the United Way of Greater Kingsport.</p>\n<
 p>“I actually know Mary Alice\, and because she also incorporates factual 
 information throughout her novels\, she has endorsed my two children’s boo
 ks\, <strong><em>The Santa Train Tradition</em></strong> and <strong><em>F
 estus and His Fun Fest Favorites</em></strong><em>\,” </em>said local auth
 or\, board member and past president of LCK\, Leigh Anne W. Hoover. “When 
 I spoke at the Tennessee Association of School Librarian’s (TASL) Conferen
 ce\, I was able to share her first children’s book\, <em>Turtle Summer</em
 >. Since then\, she also has another children’s book\, <em>A Butterfly Cal
 led Hope\,</em> about monarch butterflies coming out\, and she has over 12
  novels in her current body of work.”</p>\n<p>The special event is sponsor
 ed by <strong>Citizens Bank\, Eastman and Seasons\, a division of Holston 
 Medical Group</strong>. Monroe will speak\, take Q&As from the audience\, 
 and following the luncheon\, she will also sign books.</p>\n<p>Advanced re
