 oe Area Council for the Arts (MACA) will present Rodney Crowell at Barker 
 Auditorium\, Hiwassee College in Madisonville on Monday\, Oct. 1\, 2012\, 
 at 7:30 PM. The performance is supported by funding from the Tennessee Art
 s Commission.</p>\n<p>Grammy Award winning artist Rodney Crowell first gai
 ned widespread recognition as a leader of the new traditionalist movement 
 in the mid-’80s. He was\, in fact\, a singer\, songwriter\, and producer w
 ith roots and ambitions extending far beyond the movement’s parameters. He
  has written and produced for a variety of artists\, including the great J
 ohnny Cash\, The Oak Ridge Boys\, Bob Seger\, Crystal Gayle\, and others\,
  while steadily adding to a prestigious catalog of albums and hit singles.
  IN 2003\, Crowell was inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame between W
 illie Nelson and Guy Clark.</p>\n<p>His latest album\, <em>Kin</em>\, a fi
 nely crafted country ode to home and family\, is a collaboration with best
 selling memoirist and poet Mary Karr\, and contains musical contributions 
 from Lucinda Williams\, Norah Jones\, Kris Kristofferson\, Vince Gill\, Le
 e Ann Womack\, Rosanne Cash\, Chely Wright\, and Emmylou Harris.</p>\n<p>I
 n this duo acoustic performance\, Crowell will be accompanied by Jedd Hugh
 es. Hughes\, who was born in the small Australian town of Quorn\, traveled
  throughout his teenage years as a sideman with various country entertaine
 rs. After relocating to Nashville. \, Hughes auditioned to be the lead gui
 tarist for Patty Loveless. Within an hour\, he was asked to join Loveless’
  rehearsal and then was invited to play the Grand Ole Opry with her the ne
 xt night and later at the MerleFest bluegrass festival.</p>\n<p>Tickets ar
