Saturday, April 12, 2014 Cherokee Lake Shore Cleanup 8am – Noon Join your neighbors who enjoy using beautiful Cherokee Lake in doing a “spring cleaning” on the shores of the lake. Join members of the Cherokee Lake Users Association and several of the local marinas picking up trash and debris that has accumulated on the shores.     Successful Cherokee Lake Shoreline Clean Up – Despite the Rain!! May’s weather proved challenging to the Cherokee Lake Users Association Marina Challenge cleanup. Despite those challenges, there was 8,105 pounds of trash collected and over 54 volunteers participated in donating 94 hours of their time.   • Cans For Critters Drive

    We are a small group of individuals who save cans for critters. We use the proceeds to provide free or reduced costs spays and nueters. We work with Grainger County Humane Society’s PAL mobile. In 2011 we fixed six animals free of charge. Last year we did 12. It is almost spring, and that means kittens and puppies, many euthinized due to the overload. We are planning to ask local businesses
