Successful Cherokee Lake Shoreline Clean Up – Despite the Rain!! May’s weather proved challenging to the Cherokee Lake Users Association Marina Challenge cleanup. Despite those challenges, there was 8,105 pounds of trash collected and over 54 volunteers participated in donating 94 hours of their time.     NAMI Hamblen County, affiliate of The NAtional Alliance on Mental Illness, will hold its support group on at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 15 at 363 E. Economy Rd in the Morristown Plaza.   • Cans For Critters Drive

    We are a small group of individuals who save cans for critters. We use the proceeds to provide free or reduced costs spays and nueters. We work with Grainger County Humane Society’s PAL mobile. In 2011 we fixed six animals free of charge. Last year we did 12. It is almost spring, and that means kittens and puppies, many euthinized due to the overload. We are planning to ask local businesses

  • American Red Cross reports improved conditions in Haiti following earthquake

  • Busy Year for American Red Cross:113 Large Relief Operations in 42 States

    On behalf of Pioneer Petroleum and Fastop Markets, a $2,000 check was presented to C.E.A.S.E. The donation was made possible through the BP Fueling Communities Program.
