Mary Cook, 60, of Morristown passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her son’s home in Bean Station.

She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Reed; sons, Timothy and Kenneth; and daughter, Ella Jane.

Survivors include her sons, Lynn (Kathy) Cook and Robert Cook; daughters, Robin Cook and Kathie Cook; grandchildren, Derek, Dwight, Mandi, Robert, Kimberly, Ronnie, Shonda, Sharon, and Jeramiah; great-grandchild, Bryson; brothers, John, Rick, and Lee; sisters, Dorothy, Virginia, and Donna; several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends; and her best friend and pet dog “Emanuel.”

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 in the chapel of Mayes Family Services, Downtown and the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Livesay officiating. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Russellville.

Mildred K. Crosby, age 84, formerly of Morristown, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 in Jackson, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her husband R.C. Crosby.

Margie Dotson, 68, of Morristown, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Morristown.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Mayes Family Services, Downtown Chapel.


Randall Lynn Edwards, 46, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 21, 2014 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Edwards.

He is survived by his father, Herbert Edwards; daughters, Whitney Edwards, Ashley Killion and Jessica Deering; four grandchildren, two brothers and one sister; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

Leslie Glenn Emert, 51, of New Market, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Military graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.

Jorma Eskola, age 68, of Treadway, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Knoxville.

John W. Mullins, 82, of Morristown, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014.

He had been employed by BASF of Morristown for 32 years. He was the son of the late Stella Mae Carpenter, wife of Ben Mullins; husband to the late Mary ‘Lois’ Mullins; father to the late John David Mullins and Vicki Mullins; father–in-law to Marica Mullins and Jack Sauceman; brother to Douglas Mullins, the late Peggy Munsey, the late Lola Epperson, the late Cloda Bailey, and the late Bennie Mae Ferguson, the late Jessie Mullins, Ben Jr Mullins, and the late Terry Mullins; son-in-law to Alice Hamic; brother-in-law to the Linda Mullins, the late Bill Munsey, Hildred Hamic, Charlie and Gloria Cate, Bonnie Wilt, the late Ray and Billie Ruth Hamic and the late June Purser, grandfather to Daniel and Heather Mullins, Richard and Becca Mullins, Patrick Mullins and Elizabeth; great-grandfather to Hunter David Mullins and Caleb Aiden Mullins; grandnephew Scotty Munsey; nieces and nephews, Mary Alice Surber, Janice Snodgrass, Johathan Hamic, Patricia Bratiger, Debbie Franz, Linda Harris, Robert Oliver, Richard Duncan, Mike Duncan, Ande Munsey, Darlinda Myers, Jackie Ferguson, Doug Mullins, Stacy Mullins and Tracy McLain, David, John, Gary, William Wilt and Barbara Gerber, Jessica Mullins, Dean Mullins, Melissa Bunch, Stephanie Weaver, Michelle Kitts, BJ Mullins, and Shannalee Mullins; and so many friends and family he loved.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Long officiating. Family and friends will meet in St. Paul Cemetery at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday for a 9 a.m. graveside service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the services.

Brenda Sue Seal, age 56, of Sneedville, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014.

She was a member of Friendlies Chapel Baptist Church. She was saved at a young age at Duck Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Johnson; brothers, Charlie, Ricky and Jerry Johnson; sisters, Christine Johnson and daughters, Connie and Joni Seal.

Survivors include husband, Billy Seal of Sneedville; sons, Jason (Erin) and David (Gena) Seal, both of Sneedville; daughters, Jamie Seal and boyfriend, Joseph Swiney; special grandson, Rylen Seal; mother, Annie Bell Johnson of Sneedville; brothers, Earl, Roy, David, Ken, Mark and Billy Johnson; sister, Charlene Mullins of Sneedville; several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the Greene family and Dr. Susan Newman and Dr. John Anderson and Hancock Home Health.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel in Sneedville. Receiving of friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at McNeil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Toney Seal and the Rev. Andrew Greene officiating.

Grave side service and interment will be in the Friendlies Chapel Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23.

Pallbearers will be Dustin, Calvin and Cody Mullins, Ronnie Johnson, Austin and Chase Trent.

Raymond “Red” Shepard age 75, of Morristown, passed away July 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was a member at Parkway Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Marie Shepard.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda McCoy Shepard; daughters, Darlene Shepard and Robin (Chris) Clevenger; sister, Ann (Mike) Harrington; brother, Donald (Diane) Shepard; and three grandchildren, Cody and Natalie Wassum and Finn Clevenger.

Funeral services will be held at Parkway Baptist Church on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Miller and the Rev. Troy White officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

William “Nick” Williams Sr., of Morristown, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 in Powell.

Family and friends will meet for a 1 p.m. graveside service on Tuesday, July 22 at Dalton Cemetery in Bean Station.

Lawrence E. Wilson (Buck), 82, of Rutledge, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was a deacon at Tampico Baptist Church and served as song leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was retired from Jeffery Chain Mfg., he was a lifelong farmer in Grainger County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jessie Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Greta L.; daughter, Sharon Cabbage and husband, Bob; son, Rick Wilson and wife, Tammy; and his sister, Marie Wilson, all of Rutledge; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Gowan, Lucas (Jill) Cabbage, Dustin Wilson and fiancé, Caitlan, Witteny(Reed) Williams and Justin Chambers; great-grandchildren include, Robbie, Will, Jacob, David and Kylie and also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the service to follow at 8 p.m. at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home Chapel in Rutledge. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Wayne Roach and the Rev. Robert Myers.

Pallbearers include, Luke Cabbage, Dustin Wilson, Matt Gowan, Jerry Vineyard, Reed Williams and Earl Watson. Honorary pallbearers include Francis Roach, Phillip Roach, Bruce Mullins, Emert Morgan, Jack Watson, and Jim Whitt.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 23 at Grainger memorial Gardens at 11a.m.
