Robert M. Cole, age 81, of Morristown, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Family and friends will meet 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2 p.m. graveside service.

KRISTAL DAWN DAVIS

Kristal Dawn Davis, age 29, of Scott County, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Magna View Baptist Church with the Rev. George Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday prior to the services at the church.

LESLIE GLENN EMERT

Leslie Glenn Emert, 51, of New Market, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of Lyons Creek Baptist Church; employed at Jewelry Television; founding member of Hanover Fist Band; and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Emert and his sister, Lisa Dobbins.

Survivors include his wife, Donna M. Emert; mother, Margaret Emert; step-sons, William (Darla) Ramsey and Stephen Ramsey; step-daughters, Michelle Ridd and Barbara Bowlin; 6 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 21 at Lyons Creek Baptist Church in Strawberry Plains and the funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Matt Giles and the Rev. Scott Childs officiating. Military graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.

CHARLES A. ‘CHUCK’ FEE

Charles A. “Chuck” Fee, age 65, of Russellville, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

A memorial service will be Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m. at the House of The Lord Jesus Christ on Shannons Little Mountain Road in Russellville.

JANE BALCH PURKEY

Jane Balch Purkey, 84, passed from this life on July 17, 2014, at Asbury Place Assisted Living Facility with loving family by her side. Born on Jan. 6, 1930, in Laughman, Florida. Jane lived most of her life in Morristown and the last 15 years in Maryville. Her purpose in life was to love and care for others, a goal achieved through her devotion to family and friends and through her work as an LPN. She was a good listener who knew how to evoke laughter in herself and others, an avid collector of angels, and a joyful seeker of new friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hubert Balch and Lorena Harrill Balch, and her husband, Ernest Clifton Purkey.

Jane is survived by her sister, Patricia Balch Harville; children, Bobbie Vance Briggs (Ron), David Vance (Vicki), Judy Purkey Pegram (Joe Magdic), and Patricia Lynn Purkey; grandchildren, Sarah Briggs, Ronald Briggs (Elizabeth), William Vance (Danielle), Faith Vance, Jason Tickel (Tara), Arlon Pearson, Alex Pearson, Cliff Purkey (Grace), and Rose Purkey; and 15 great grandchildren. Jane’s family sends gratitude and love to Amy White, a special friend and neighbor and to the entire staff of Asbury Place Assisted Living for caring for her as if she were family.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Stan Rushing officiating. Family and friends will re-assemble immediately following the service at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

William Rufe “Pappy” Spears, age 87, of Dandridge, passed away on July 19, 2014.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home, White Pine.

Graveside interment service will be on Wednesday, July 23 at 11 a.m. in Coleman Cemetery in White Pine.

LYDIA MAE CARROLL WELLS

Lydia Mae Carroll Wells, age 101, of Bean Station, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Emeritus Assisted Living Center. She was a member of Spruce Pine Grove Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert M. Wells; daughter, Bernice Wells- Gass; parents, Daniel and Clara Carroll; brothers, J D, Garrett, Clay, and Jack Carroll.

She is survived by her sons, Cleason (Ruth) Wells of Bean Station, Henry B. Wells of Morristown; sisters, Alice Adams of Mooresburg, Charlotte Long of Bean Station; brother, Glen Carroll of Rogersville; grandchildren, James Wells, Steve Wells of Bean Station, Carol Ann Day, Lisa Breeden of Jefferson City; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Spruce Pine Grove Church on Sunday, July 20 at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Epps and the Rev. Dustin Callahan officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. entombment service.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the services.

WILLIAM ‘NICK’ WILLIAMS SR.

William “Nick” Williams Sr., of Morristown, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 in Powell. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era.

He was an avid football and baseball fan, following his favorite teams, the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Orioles.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Mary Williams; son, Joseph Williams; brothers, Ruben Williams, Frank Williams, Wayne Williams, and Joe Williams; and sister, Mary Shipley.

He is survived by sons, Randall Williams, Christopher Williams, Jason Williams, and William “Nick” Williams Jr.; daughters, Jesica Taylor and Sara Hodge; brother, Hugh Williams; sister, Mattie Johnson; special friends, Dale Coward and Larry Lemka; nineteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday, July 21 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Courtney officiating. Family and friends will meet for a 1 p.m. graveside service on Tuesday, July 22 at Dalton Cemetery in Bean Station. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the services at the funeral home.
