Mary W. Manning Collins, 84, of Morristown, formerly of Dandridge, passed away Saturday evening, June 21, 2014 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Manning; son, Lynn Tipton; granddaughter, Lindsey Williams; brothers, Everett and Harold Manning.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Mary) Tipton, Everett (Sue) Tipton, Karen (Dennis) Morgan and Phyllis Williams; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday June 24 at 8 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Drinnon officiating. Interment graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hills Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge

Raymond H. Ewing, 87, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014.

Raymond’s going home celebration will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Blaine Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pearl Maxine Hudgens, 85, of Bulls Gap, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 23, 2014, at Signature Health and Rehab Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Weaver and brother, Kenneth Hudgens.

She leaves behind her caretakers, W. K. and Janice Walker and Callie Fannon.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Signature Health and Rehab for their loving care.

Friends and family will meet at Walker Cemetery 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 for graveside services with Elder John Arnott officiating.

Norah E. Ross Hut, born June 22, 1916 in New York City, New York to mother, Anne Gertrude Seery, and father, Arthur Patrick Ross, and passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014. She moved to Pleasantville, New York and attended St. Thomas Roman Catholic Elementary School and St. John’s Roman Catholic Academy in White Plains, New York. After high school, she worked for Reader’s Digest in Mt. Kisco, New York and later, moved to New York City and worked in a savings bank in Lower Manhattan. In 1944, she married Roelf W. Hut from the Netherlands and moved to Morristown in 1948, where her husband worked for American Enka. The Catholic faith and the ideals, and the promise and laws of girl scouting, have been the guidepost of her life.

She is survived by her children, Martha Anne Hut (Jon Rosen) of Colorado, Edith Jane (David) Barnes of Georgia, Ann Christine (Clarence) Hill, of Knoxville and Peter Ross (Joanne) Hut of Murfreesbroro; grandchildren, Christine Mereand, Ellen Mee, Heather Hill, Jonathan and Christopher Barnes, Rachel Bremen and Rebecca Hut; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa Barnes, Jackson, Edward and Robert Mereand and Zoë Mee.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Whitman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jarnigan Cemetery for the graveside service. Family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 475 N. Hwy. 92, Jefferson City, TN 37760 or Jefferson County Nursing Home (For Green Houses), 914 Industrial Park Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725 or to a non-profit of your choice.

Beulah Lee, 72, passed away Monday morning, June 23, 2014 at UT Medical Center.

Jimmy Lyle Massey, 71, of Morristown, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away at his home Saturday, June 21, 2014, after his battle with cancer. He retired from the C. F. Group, formerly known as Shelby Williams, after 32 years of service. Mr. Massey was a gentle man who loved his family and enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch feeding his squirrels and wild turkeys. In his earlier years, he was an accomplished softball player. He was the son of the later Lloyd Ray Massey and Verna Lee Massey.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Lyle Massey Jr., stepson, Johnny Denton; and sister, Elizabeth Southerland.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 30 years, Clorene Massey; son, Joseph (Lisa Brockwell) Massey; grandson, Andrew Starnes; granddaughter, Joie Cheyenne (Tyler Reeves) Massey and Stacie Massey; brother, Ike Massey; special sister-in-law, Geraldine Seal; nephews, Marty (Melissa Shipley) Southerland, Rodney Southerland and Scott Massey; great-nieces, Jessica Southerland and Savanna Southerland; and great-nephews, Zackery Massey and Jeremy Southerland.

Funeral services will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. Family and friends will gather on Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m. in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11 a.m. graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Richard Ford, Tony Hoover, Jerry Miller, Carl Russell, Greg Seal, Larry Sluder and Cecil Ward.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.

The family expresses thanks to special friends and neighbors, Tony, Phyllis, and Tonya Hoover; the doctors and nurses of East TN Cancer Specialists; and UT Hospice Services.

Barry P. Maxwell, 74, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his residence. Barry was born on June 24, 1939 and worked for the Morristown Fire Department for 33 years. He retired as battalion chief in 1996. He was a faithful member of Thankful Baptist Church, which he dearly loved. Barry was a devoted husband, daddy, and grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl P. and Iris Cox Maxwell; and son, Jackie R. Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nina L. Maxwell; sons, Kim P. (Jan) Maxwell of Cartersville, Georgia and Gary W. (Karen) Maxwell of Panama City, Florida; daughter, Teresa L. Davis of Morristown; grandson, Jason S. Davis, whom he raised as his own; four other grandchildren and soon to be six great-grandchildren. His only granddaughter took great care of him in his last days.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Thankful Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Rutherford and the Rev. Barry Warren officiating. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at the funeral home.

Harold J. Russell, 76, of Morristown, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

Edgar Thomas Sapp, 82, of Bean Station, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at 5:20 a.m. at his residence. He was a member of the National Guard.

Celebration of life services will be Tuesday, June 24 at 1 p.m. at Mayes Family Services Downtown Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Alder officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
