Bewley’s Chapel to host Bill Mason


William “Bill” Mason will be presenting an hour of old time gospel music Saturday, June 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Bewley’s Chapel.

Beweley’s Chapel Church in Russellville will host an hour of old time gospel music with William “Bill” Mason June 28 at 3:30 p.m.

Mason has a love of music that began in 1952 with an accapella group named The Corvettes when he was only in the fourth grade. That love progressed to spending four years in the high school glee club to the present day of singing in the Toney’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Choir.

Along wht way, Mason learned to play the guitar, 5 and six-string banjo, dobro, resonator guitar, mandolin, baritone banjo uke and the piano.

At one time or another, he has played many of the churches in the surrounding areas and various other venues, including nursing homes. He regularly plays at Alps, The Heritage Nursing Home and Terrance View Nursing Home.
