MADGE ELIZABETH BAKER

Madge Elizabeth Baker, 71, of Morristown passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home. She was a member of First Church of God, Morristown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and LaEula Skeen.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Baker; brothers, Ronnie (Janice) Harrold and Jack (Charlotte) Harrold; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 in the chapel of Mayes Family services, Downtown and the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Willis Bowers officiating; interment will follow in Jarnagin Cemetery. The family would like to thank Covenant Home Health and Hospice for all of their care and support.

C.A. Coffey, 86, of Bean Station passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home.

COOLIDGE ‘COOT’ CUTSHAW

Coolidge “Coot” Cutshaw, 89, of the Tusculum community, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home. He was a former employee of Pet Milk Co. and later was manager of Mary Carter Paint Store in Morristown. He was of the Baptist faith.

Coolidge was a long-time member of the VFW, Mr. Cutshaw was a distinguished veteran of WW II and received a bronze star for his service in Burma as a member of the Mars Task Force and Merrill’s Marauders.

Survivors include a brother and sisters-in-law, James and Betty Cutshaw of Greeneville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dailey Ruble of Greeneville, Fannie Slagle of Limestone, Jeanette and Drewery Loggins of Gainsville, Georgia; four nephews, Mike Cutshaw, Billy Cutshaw, Larry Cutshaw, Steve Taylor; three nieces, Beth Williams, Vickie Manis, Karen Larch; several great nieces and great nephews; a host of friends.

He was the son of the late Rev. S. A. and Elizabeth Ramsey Cutshaw and was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Roman Cutshaw; a sister, Louise Taylor.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Drewery Loggins and the Rev. Mike Cutshaw officiating with a special presentation by Billy Cutshaw. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tusculum. Full military honors will be conducted with pallbearers being provided by members of the U. S. Army, 75th Ranger Regiment of Ft. Benning, Georgia.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301.

DANIEL CURTIS LANE

Daniel Curtis Lane, 38, of Ashland, Missouri passed away. He was born June 26, 1975 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Eddie Lane and Melody Cain Lane White.

Daniel is survived by his father, Eddie Lane and wife, Martha of Morristown and his mother, Melody White and husband, Randy of Ashland, Missouri; one daughter, Nevaeh Lane of Ashland; one brother, Arron Lane and wife, Kelly of New Bloomfield, Missouri; grandparents, Curtis (Bo) Cain and Joann Cain of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Irene Lane of Tennessee.

Graveside services will be helf on Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in New Bloomfield, Missouri.

John Wayne Mabe, 66, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

Irene R. Moore, 78, of Morristown, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Life Care Center of Morristown. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Murphy.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Wilburn Moore.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet at noon Thursday, June 19 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

MARY CARLEY LINKOUS MOORE

Mary Carley Linkous Moore, 86, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Widowed young, she raised her three sons alone. Her incredible strength and faith served her well in those years and throughout her life.

She was devoted to her family and always enjoyed cooking for them. Another passion was her yard and flowers. Those passing by admired them for years and often stopped to talk and tell her how beautiful they were. Not to be forgotten was her love of cars, particularly fast muscle cars, which she certainly knew how to drive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ponder Moore; parents, Hiram and Rhoda Davis Linkous; brothers, Dee, Chester, Bert, Jaffie, Winfield and Henry; and sisters, Glessie Bloomer, Lou Wilmouth and Opal Simpson.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn, Randall and Jeana and Larry and Shirley Moore; sister, Maude Lawrence; brothers, Rod and R.C. Linkous; devoted grandchildren, Shannon M. Cobb and her husband, Terry, who was a special friend, Randy and wife, Charlotte, Jason, Erin and Sarah Moore, and Jessica Turner; great-grandchildren, Amber and Trevor Cobb; along with many very dear nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Jarnagin Cemetery for graveside services with the Rev. Tim Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at the funeral home.

Rebecca Jane Bunch Oden, 77, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Barbour Court Nursing Home in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Jack Singleton, 75, of Morristown, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Oma Singleton; sister, Billie Jean Singleton Brummitte.

He is survived by his brothers, Carroll Singleton of Morristown, Carmack Singleton and Ted Singleton both of Cleveland; sister, Georgia Wolfe of Bean Station; fiancée, Brenda Jarnigan; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Davis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 19 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Adam C. Steele, 25, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 16, 2014 at Physicians Regional Hospital surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Arthur “Butch” Steele; his grandparents, Paul and Thelma Parker, Walter and Irene Steele;

Aunts, Polly Parker, Blanch Masoner, Rose Ann Pressley, Faye Wilder and Ellen Greene; uncles, Daney Parker, Kenneth Parker and Stanley Parker.

He is survived by his mom and her fiancé, Vicky Steele and Rainer Bettendorf; his sister and brother-in-law, Alisha (Alex) McAnally; nephews, Elijah and Mason McAnally; aunts and uncles, Sharon Jones, Pat (Ed) Hull, Linda Cobble, Brenda Danielson, Charlene (Richard) Donaldson, Darlene (Bill) Anderson; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 in the chapel of Mayes Family Services, Downtown and the funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

David Wesley Watkins, 61, of Talbott, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 18 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer Funeral Home with Darien Jarrod Watkins giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet Thursday June 19 at 9:45 a.m. at Hamblen Memory Gardens for an interment service at 10 a.m.
