Morristown West baseball coach Chuck Stansberry resigned his position as head coach Tuesday afternoon, citing personal reasons for giving up the position he held for 10-plus years.

Stansberry, who was set to begin his 16th season as a coach at West next week, will be replaced by assistant coach Nick Morgan, who will be the interim head coach for the 2014 season that will open on Monday.

Stansberry led the Trojans to a District 2-AAA tournament championship last season and had a solid nucleus returning this year, including Coastal Carolina signee Will Gardner.
