Vegetarian cooking class offered at Morristown Seventh-Day Adventist Church

A free, vegetarian cooking class will take place at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Morristown Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 360 W. Economy Rd.

The theme of the cooking class will be soups and participants will see cooking demonstrations, eat a light lunch, and hear a health presentation by Daniel Castro, M.D.

Castro graduated from the Loma Linda University Medical School, where he completed his residency in internal medicine. He served an additional year as chief resident, and later worked as faculty at the university and the local Veterans Administration Medical Center. He currently works as the lead medical officer for the VA clinic in Morristown.

The cooking class is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.

Registration is limited to 50 participants. The registration deadline is Jan. 30. Donations will be accepted on site to cover the cost of the food.
