William Kenny Batman, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Morristown, passed away Jan. 11, 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Louise Rogers and his brother, Robert “Donnie” Batman.

He is survived by his daughter, Chaunte McCray; stepfather, John E. Rogers; sisters, Michelle, Louise, Margaret and Destiny; brothers, Scottie Batman, Derrick, George, Frank and Peter Rogers, all of Morristown; aunts, Trula (Don) Deadrick, Juanita Fanney of Morristown and Lawrence Fanney of Thorn Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ROSEMARY EMERY BEIER

Rosemary Emery Beier, 86, of Morristown, passed into “Paradise” on Jan. 13, 2014. She was born July 18, 1927 in Marine City, Mich. She moved to Morristown with her husband and children in July 1962.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Beier.

Rosemary “Meemee” loved her family and friends. She was blessed with stable health during 2013 and was able to travel with her son, Brian, to the beach, which she described as “paradise,” and to visit relatives in Michigan. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated at the end of the year.

Rosemary leaves behind family members who will miss her greatly including children, Carolynn Bailey, Douglas Beier (daughter-in-law, Heather), Gwendolynn Drinnon, Jacquelynn Edmonds (son-in-law, David Edmonds), Brian Beier; grandchildren, Jennifer Patrick, Robert “Rob” Bailey (Lesley), Ashton Drinnon, Adam Beier, Cameron Beier; great-granddaughter, Bailey Patrick; sisters, Betty Summerville, Dorothy Ardoin (Dalton); brother, Laverne Emery Jr. (Helen); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m at Allen Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 7 p.m. with interment on Friday at 1 p.m. at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

LINDA CAROL DALTON

Linda Carol Dalton, 69, of Grainger County, passed away Jan. 14, 2014 at her home. She was saved at an early age at Dry Valley Baptist Church and was later a devoted member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Bean Station for many years.

She was preceded in death by her two infant babies, Tommy and Connie Dalton; father, Roy Dalton; mother, Pauline (Dalton) Epperson; brother, Stanley Dalton; brother-in-law, Dennis Hurst.

She is survived by her husband, Verl Dalton of 49 years; son, Clifford Dalton; granddaughter, Kayla Dalton; sister, Faye Hurst; sister-in-law, Eula Dalton; special caregiver and sister-in-law, Mable Hipshire; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday night at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dalton Cemetery in Broken Valley with the Rev. Jerry Epperson and the Rev. Kurt Reed officiating. Singers will be The Epperson Family.

CORA MAE MORGAN DANIEL

Cora Mae Morgan Daniel, 82, of Rutledge, went to be with The Lord Jan. 13, 2014. She was a wonderful person to all who knew her, and was the heart and soul of the Daniel family through her strength and guidance. Her love of family and friends has been an inspiration to many. She was a wonderful mother, granny, daughter, sister and aunt.

She loved to cook and have family meals and cherished the times when family and friends would visit, and the times when her niece and nephews would stop by for some of her tater salad and ice tea. They lovingly referred to her as Aunt Bee. Her grandchildren were her heart as she had a special way of making everyone of them feel like they were her favorite. She loved the Great Smokey Mountains and enjoyed working in her flowers. Cora was a faithful member of Avondale Baptist Church. She adored her three brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Lillie Morgan; son, Wayne Daniel; and brother, Edd Morgan.

Survivors include children, Sue Gregg of Michigan, Grady (Betty) Daniel of New Market, Jane (Henly) Atkins and Jeff (Sherry) Daniel, both of Rutledge; grandchildren, Charlotte (John) Baldus of Rutledge, Dewayne Gregg of Michigan, Marilynn Gregg (Chuck Nagy) of Michigan, Steve (Staci) Gregg of Michigan, Kevin Daniel of New Market, Dewayne (Leasa) Daniel of Parrottsville, Brandi (Dewayne) England of White Pine, Lydia Daniel of Rutledge, Destiny Daniel of Rutledge and Brandon Daniel of Michigan; great-grandchildren, including Dylan Wynn, Tiffani Gregg, Carson Gregg, Carilyn Gregg, Keira England, Mikaela England, Tanner England, Kaley Daniel, Stephen Daniel and Logan Daniel; brothers, J.C. Morgan and Howard (Maxine) Morgan both of Rutledge; one niece and several nephews.

The family would like to extend thanks to Jefferson Memorial Hospital and staff, Ridgeview Nursing Home and staff, and to everyone for their numerous acts of kindness and prayers. Cora will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with the Rev. Danny Morgan, the Rev. Randy Morgan and the Rev. Jesse Surbur officiating. Judy Greene Errington, 70, loving mother and nana, passed away on Jan. 11, 2014. She was very giving and spent every moment she could with her family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona Greene and brother, Kenneth Greene.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Dottie Errington; grandchildren, Isaac and Caleb Errington; sister-in-law, Myrna L. Greene; and nieces, Cyndi and Carole Greene.

Polly June Johnson, 90, of Bulls Gap, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the home of her daughter. She retired from NCR. She was a member at Cedar Flat Baptist Church in Hancock County and attended Sunrise Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

Polly was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, Marion W. Johnson; her beloved son, Larry W. Johnson; parents, Charlie and Mattie Smith Payne of Tazewell; sisters, Gladys Payne Manning, Rene Payne Rowe; and brothers, Curtis “Boots” Payne and Joe Payne.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Faye and L.G. “Fuzz” Sauceman of Bulls Gap; grandchildren, Melissa (Roger) Odom of Morristown, Rob Johnson of Knoxville, Warren Johnson and Eric Sauceman, both of Bulls Gap; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Taelor and Allie Johnson of Knoxville, Vanessa and Spencer Odom of Morristown, Jesse Sauceman of Bulls Gap; sisters, Ruby Ferguson of Sneedville, Jimmie Walker of Clarksville, Nita Smith of Mississippi; brother, Charles (Audrey) Payne of Mosheim; special friends, Harvey and Serena Sauceman; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois M. Jones, 88, of Morristown, passed away on Jan. 13, 2014, at The Heritage Center. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church. Prior to her illness, she loved to crochet and participated in local craft shows.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Elbert H. and Mary McKinney; husband, Cecil H. Jones; son, Wayne Jones; sisters, Ruby Potter, Ruth Robertson, Edith McClanahan, Hazel Dickerson, Mary Frances McKinney; brothers, Elbert McKinney Jr. and George McKinney.

She is survived by daughter, Tammy (Tim) McKinney, of Greenville, N.C.; grandson, Taylor (Carolyn) McKinney, of Fredericksburg, Va.; granddaughters, Donna (John) Guinn of Morristown and Tina Jones of New York; daughter-in-law, Donna Kay Jones of Morristown; sisters, JoAnn Kinley of White Pine, and Ora Canter of Morristown; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

ARLIE V. ‘ROD’ LONG

Arlie V. “Rod” Long, 68, of Bean Station, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at his residence. He was the owner of Long’s Carpet service in Morristown. He was U.S. Marine veteran serving in Vietnam.

Mr. Long was a member of Hamblen Lodge No. 767 Free and Accepted Masons in Morristown. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Knoxville Scottish Rite Masons since December 2013, a member of Kerbela Temple in Knoxville and Morristown Shrine Club. He was serving as vice-president of Lakeway Area (Hamblen County) Scottish Rite Club and he was very active in the annual Hamblen County Scottish Rite shoe distribution for children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Ruby Frances Long; two sisters and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dianne Long; son, Greg Long of Morristown; grandchildren, Brandon Long, Tristen Lovelace and Arissa Belle; stepdaughter, Tabitha McGinnis and Rebecca Lovelace; sister, Anne Lee; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. in Long Family cemetery in Bean Station for a 2 p.m. graveside service. Cuma Jo Madison, 69, of Lee Road, Mohawk, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. Cuma was a homemaker and was a member Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edgar Madison of Mosheim and Anthony and Renada Madison of Mohawk; five grandchildren, Shaina Madison, Colton Madison, Bailey Madison, Elijah Madison and Gage Madison; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar Burl and Betty Lawson of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and David and JoAnn Lawson of Sneedville; special sister-in-law, Wanda Lawson of Morristown; several nieces and nephews,

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Leonard Madison; a son, Cecil Bryan Madison; her parents, Hubert David and Della Mabe Lawson; and four brothers, Ted Lawson, Lester Gene Lawson, Hubert Jody Lawson and Wilber Ray Lawson.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Stockman. Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be C.E. Turner, James DeBord, Colton David Madison, Jason Pitts, Chad Knight and Cody Ivy.

Brian D. Quackenbush, 70, of Morristown, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at his home. He was a life member of the VFW and former Chaplin, Life Member of the Am Vets, DAV and American Legion.

Mr. Quackenbush was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Quackenbush.

He is survived by his son, Chris Quackenbush; sister, Jan Wetterav; daughter, Laurie; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Terry Krieble; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Beck and Bonnie Quackenbush and nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

A military memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16 in Mayes Family Services, Downtown Chapel conducted by VFW Post No. 5266.  The family will receive friends 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the services.

Jack Benjamin Romines, 80, of White Pine, passed away at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Systems on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 after a lingering illness. He is retired from Lenzing Fibers and was a member of Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was one of the oldest members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Grace Morie Romines; brothers, Quinton, James, Harold “Woody” and Dennis Romines; sisters, Helen Allen, Mary Hart and Joann Fain.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Jean Romines; children, son, Russell (Jill) Romines of Morristown; daughter, Valerie Romines of Joneboro and son, Mike (Ellen) Romines of Dandridge; grandchildren, Ben and Kelly Romines, Stephanie Baldwin; great-grandson, Wyatt Baldwin; sisters, Hazel Rimmer and Barbara Sue Franklin; also several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, with the Rev. Charles Shipley and the Rev. Bud Cagle officiating, family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside interment will be on Friday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. in White Pine Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 272, White Pine, TN 37890.
