BILL LACKEY BERRY

 

Bill Lackey Berry, 85, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at Tennova Healthcare System in Jefferson City. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joe W. and Hulda Crigger Berry ; six sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his sister, Dorris Morgan; special nephew, Bruce Brady as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1 at Bethesda Cemetery in Morristown, with the Rev. David Sartan and the Rev. Larry Parrott officiating.

JOAN BRIENZE

 

Joan Brienze, 75, of Mooresburg, formerly of New York, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at her residence.

She will be taken back to Hale-Lynch Funeral Home in Middle Island, N.Y. for services and interment.

HOWARD E. BUNCH

 

Howard E. Bunch, 78, of Morristown, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Bunch; son, Michael Bunch; parents, Cass and Ora Bunch; grandchildren, Ronnie Close and Tracey Seals; great-granddaughter, Tamara Seals; brothers, Ralph Bunch, Donald “Duck” Bunch and Gene Bunch; and sister, Betty Wilds.

He is survived by his son, Howard C. Bunch; daughters, Brenda Bertrang and Peggy Hoffman; grandchildren, Jennifer Eggers, Christina Bunch, Tyler Hoffman and Christopher Bunch; great-grandchildren, Taylor Close, Casey Seals, Chloe Eggers, McKayla Eggers, Dawson Eggers, Bella Hoffman and Kaylie Hoffman; brothers, June Bunch and Billy Bunch; and sister, Lucille Collins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens with Military Honors by VFW Post 5266 officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Westside Chapel Funeral Home for funeral expenses.

JUDY ALISA BURTON ‘LISA’

 

Judy Alisa “Lisa” Burton, 57, passed away on Jan. 10, 2014 after a battle with cancer. She leaves a legacy of love and will forever be cherished and remembered in the thoughts and hearts of her loved ones.

She loved her children and family and enjoyed spending time with both family and friends. She had a kind spirit and gentle soul for all, with a soft spot for animals.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Hensley and brother, Gary Self.

She leaves behind her two sons, Jonathan Collins of Dandridge and Blake Burton of White Pine; mother, Jerri Hensley of Morristown; sisters, Lori Clark of Morristown and Tina Hensley of Sevierville; brother, Phil Hensley and wife, Patty of Johnson City; ex-husband and friend, Charlie Burton and wife, Linda of White Pine; several nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.

Lisa worked at Wilco-Hess Market the past six years with a special group of co-workers.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Speedwell Missionary Baptist Church, Speedwell Church Road, Bulls Gap, TN with the Rev. Jamey Brooks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morristown Animal Shelter, 300 Dice Street, Morristown, TN.

CONLEY BUTTERWORTH

 

Conley Butterworth, 82, of Dandridge, passed away, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Scarlett Butterworth; parents, Walter and Cora Patterson Butterworth; son, Paul Butterworth; brothers, Carl, Earl and P.G. Butterworth.

Survivors include his daughters, Wanda (Rodney) Rainwater, Melissa (Tony) Berry; sons, Mark, Micheal and Mickey (Heather) Butterworth; grandchildren, Kristie, Austin, Samantha, Lucas, Paul, Tony and Christy; great-grandchild, Karri; brother, Don (Betty) Butterworth and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services, Monday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sherry Seay officiating. Interment graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Deep Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday evening 5 to 7 p.m. prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.

CARL W. DAVIDSON

 

Carl W. Davidson, 62, of Bulls Gap, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at his residence. He was retired from TRW and an avid hunter and golfer.

Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mollie Rose Davidson; brother, Claude Henry Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Morelock Davidson; son, Ian Clay Davidson and wife, Aletheia “Allie” of Morristown; sisters, Delores Jennings and husband, Jack of Wilmington, N.C., Phyllis Canipe and husband, Artie of Kingsport, Ireates Miller of Birmingham, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12 at Holston Electric Cooperative in Rogersville.

TENNESSEE ROSE (PAT) McCOY

 

Tennessee Rose (Pat) McCoy, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Ella McDaniel Reed; son, Clifton Kent and husband, Clifton Roy McCoy and brothers, Elliott and John (Ben) Reed.

Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Morgan; grandson, Joshua; brothers, Raymond and Kay Reed and Roy and Donna Reed; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 at the McCoy Cemetery in Sneedville with the Rev. Kyle Gregory Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the McCoy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the McNeil Funeral Home in Sneedville

J.T. MORGAN

 

J.T. Morgan, 79, of Dandridge, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2014. He was born in Sevier County, the son of the late Lee and Frances Bailey Morgan. J.T was a member of the Deep Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Magnavox.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Morgan; children, Judy Faye Williamson, Larry Morgan, Billy Morgan, Gary (Brenda) Morgan and James (Lisa) Morgan; grandchildren, Jennifer Williamson, Donnie Williamson, Matthew, Nicholas, Jonathan, Jacob Morgan; and sisters, Golda Wells, Nina Humphrey and Betty Matthews; brother, Alger Morgan and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services, Monday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Chambers officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.

CURTIS L. SUSONG

 

Curtis L. Susong, 58, of New Braunfels, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday Dec. 30, 2013 after a 10-month battle with cancer.

Curtis was born of Nov. 1, 1955 in White Pine, to Alma Blazer Susong of Parrottsville and the late George L. Susong.

Mr. Susong was employed at Western Rail Road, New Branufels, Texas, as a lead man.

He also preceded in death by his son, Adam Susong.

Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Elvia Susong; children, Benjamin (Christy) Susong of Bean Station, Marcelina Hernandez, Anthony (Michelle) Hernandez and Cynthia Soto, all of Texas; sisters, Lisa Pratt of Moshiem, Debra Susong; brother, Phillip Susong, both of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Aaron Albright, Andrew Susong, Jaycee Susong, all of Bean Station, Jenae Montez, Mariah Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Joe Ray Sanchez and Mishay Hernandez and Mario Soto all of Texas; and several other family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 2 in New Braunfels, Texas.

BETTY ALDER TERRY

 

Betty Alder Terry, 98, of Rogersville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mack “Pete” Terry, 1990; her parents, Ed and Mary Anne Alder; one brother, Henry Alder; and two sisters, Claudia Short and Esther Livesay.

She was born in Hancock County but was a resident of Hawkins County since 1937. Betty worshipped at Rogersville First Baptist Church, where she was a member since 1945. She retired from Hawkins County Schools after a career of 35 years in teaching.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Sarah Walker of Rogersville and Janey Terry of Troy, Ohio; sister, Peggy Stuart of Oak Ridge; four grandchildren, Sarah Jane Sutton and husband, Rick of Kingsport, Terri Testerman of Rogersville, Mitchell Greene and wife, Bethany (stepson, Michael Widden) of Troy, Ohio, and TJ Greene and wife, Kyleen of Troy, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Shiloh Dunn of Kingsport and Alexis Bowlin of Rogersville.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Rogersville. Services will follow with the Rev. Andy Willis officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 at McKinney Cemetery in Rogersville.

Sandra Ward, 64, of Rutledge, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at Cocke County Hospital in Newport.
