Brenda Vickie Greene Cox, 71, of Bean Station, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at her residence.

Carl W. Davidson, 62, of Bulls Gap, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at his residence. He was retired from TRW and an avid hunter and golfer.

Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mollie Rose Davidson; brother, Claude Henry Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Morelock Davidson; son, Ian Clay Davidson and wife, Aletheia “Allie” of Morristown; sisters, Delores Jennings and husband, Jack of Wilmington, N.C., Phyllis Canipe and husband, Artie of Kingsport, Ireates Miller of Birmingham, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12 at Holston Electric Cooperative in Rogersville.

Bruce Morgan Greene, 53, of Bean Station, passed away peacefully at his home, Jan. 8, 2014.

He was preceded in death by brother, Chris Greene; and parents, John Morgan Greene and Fannie Mae Whittaker Greene.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debra Patterson Greene; daughter, Bobbie Jo (Patrick) Collins; son, Jamie (Ashley) Singleton; mother-in-law, Carcel Owens; granddaughters, Alexis Collins and Kayla Singleton; grandsons, Dylan, Christopher and Johnathan Singleton; brothers, Mitchell (Sharon) Greene, Tony (Rosemary) Greene, Greg (Ramona) Greene; sister, Melissa (Doug) Clark; brothers-in-law, Richard Owens, Tony Owens, Dallas Patterson; one niece; five nephews; and many life long friends.

Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Saturday evening, Jan. 11 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with the Rev. Jake Cunningham officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at Helton Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gregory, Adam, Brock and Travis Greene, Patrick Collins, and Jamie Singleton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale and Terry Hatfield.

The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. prior to services Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Ronald Bruce Houck, 73, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.

Debra C. Kitts, 59, of Clinton, formerly of Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Red Hatters Club.

She was preceded in death by her father, George R. Jones and daughter, Sindy Torres of Garland, Texas.

Survivors include her mother, Fran (James) Howard; spouse, Scott Vance; daughter, Kaylee (Carl) Bonney of Nebraska; son, David Campbell; stepdaughters, Shelby Vance and Elizabeth Vance; grandchildren, Danielle Torres, Madeline Torres, Haylee Bonney, Aaliyah Bonney and Cameren Bonney; brothers, Martin Lacy of Tennessee, Paul Lacy of Oklahoma and Todd Jones of Arkansas; sisters, Linda McKinney of Indiana and Kim Cook of Arkansas; aunts, Phyllis Dorman and Roberta Clark; uncle, James Booker; and a host of family and friends.

Billy Jack McClain, 80, of White Pine, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Boling officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Talbott. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

MILDRED EUGENIA CARR McCRAVY

Mildred Eugenia Carr McCravy, 81, of Newport, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Harold Carr Sr. and Mildred Aileen Linder Carr; a son, William Harold McCravy; a brother, John Harold Carr Jr.; and two stepsons, George McCravy Jr. and Clay McCravy.

She was a loyal member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a retiree of American Enka/BASF.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Jo McCravy of Newport, Ina Jane (Frank) Buntin of Springfield, Mass., Anna Mae McCravy of Hayward, Calif. and Edward McCravy of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandsons, Rashaan (Tammi) McCravy of Prairie, Texas, Maurice Buntin of Los Angeles, Calif., Javon McCravy of Amityville, N.Y., Chad Buntin of Springfiled, Mass.; and granddaughter, Jaida McCravy of Cromwell, Conn.; three great-great-grandchildren, Aleena Holmes of Manassas, Va., Amir and Avery McCravy of Prairie, Texas. She is also survived by her two devoted sisters, Kathryn A. Carr and Betty Jo Goodrum of Newport; stepdaughter, Thelma McCravy Clemons of Louisville, Ky. and daughter-in-law, Delores McMahan McCravy of Bedford, Mass.

Mildred “Aunt Mim” is survived by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including a special friends, Mr. Raymond Woods of Parrottsville.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 10 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel from 6 until 7 p.m., with funeral services to begin at 7 p.m. The Rev. Jesse L. Jones Jr., will be officiating.

Entombment will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum in Dandridge.

Kathryn O’Connell, 71, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.

She was well loved and will be missed by her husband of 50 years, Joe; sons, Tom of Reno, Nev., Dan and wife, Mitzi of Nashville and Joel and wife, Nicole of Hendersonville, N.C.; daughter, Saundra and husband, James Landoll Jr. of Haymarket, Va.; eight grandchildren, Cherise O’Connell, Michael and George Wallberg, Elizabeth and Olivia O’Connell, Rose Landoll, Logan and Charli O’Connell; and two great-grandchildren, Josalyn and Michael Wallberg.

She enjoyed working for the last five years at Dollywood.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Loy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Eunice John Phillips, 81, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Jan. 5, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Eunice grew up in Oneida and moved to Jefferson City in 1955. He worked at Magnavox for 40 years.

Eunice was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Bertie Mae Adkins Phillips; son, Ralph Phillips; parents, Benjamin Harrison Phillips and Burnettie Byrd Phillips of Scott County; sisters, Reba (Lloyd) and Jarnigan and Janice (Phillip)Pollard; brothers, Arvil Phillips and Walter Lee Phillips, all of Jefferson City; parents-in-law, Bertha Lawson Adkins and Sherman Adkins of Scott County; sister-in-law, Lucille Brumette Phillips of Jefferson City; and brother-in-law, Ephraim Phillips of Jefferson City.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Diane Phillips Ball; granddaughters, Courtney Ball and Whitney Ball Childress, both of Jefferson City; great-granddaughters, Kiarah Childress, 14, of Knoxville, Makayla Childress, 10, and Myladi Ball, 10, both of Jefferson City; sister, Telltha Phillips of Jefferson City; brother, Dana Phillips; nieces, Peggy Jarnigan, Carolyn Tester, Betty Long, Frances Shampine; nephews, Brian Pollard, Delmar, Lloyd J. and Johnny Phillips. He will also be truly missed by his extended Adkins family.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Fielden Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.

Joyce Sharp, 67, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 9, 2014 following an extended illness. She was a member of the McCampbell’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Minyard Rayfield; sister, Sandra Marie Rayfield.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mack Sharp; children, Angie (Johnny) Swann, Vicky Lynn Sharp, Mack C. (Amy) Sharp, Marla (Jason) Burross; grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda) Morgan, Dustin Morgan, Anthony and Jeremy Sharp, Michael Burross, Matthew Burross; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Trevor Fahel, Adrianna and Danielle Morgan; mother, Juanita Rayfield; brothers, Charles and wife, Helen Rayfield, Bill and wife, Cathy Rayfield, Tony Rayfield and Jeff and his wife, Sherry Rayfield; several nieces and nephews.

Melissa D. Silver, 42, was born on July 5, 1971 and passed away Dec. 29, 2013 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

She is survived by daughter, Teresa Lynn Champaign of Marietta, Ga.; son, Guy Shane Champaign Jr.; mother, Sara Lee Thompson of Bean Station; brother, Billy (Marlena) Silver; niece and nephew, Michelle and Michael Silver of Carrollton, Ga.; and several uncles, aunts and cousins all of Georgia.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held at the City of Refuge Baptist Church, in Crescent Center Morristown on Saturday, Jan.11 from 1 to 2 p.m. with Gary D. Riggs officiating.

The Rev. Jimmie L. Smith, 79, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at McBride Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Smith and the Rev. David Rutherford officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at McBride Cemetery.
