HARRY JAMES ADLER JR.

Harry James Adler Jr., 48, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at his home. He was a member of Roe Junction Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry James Adler Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Alpha Adler; brother, Jackie Adler; special aunt, Virginia Jerald and a host of family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Mayes Family Services, West Chapel and funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Satterfield and the Rev. Adrian Lawler officiating. Family and friends will gather at Sunderland Cemetery Saturday, Jan. 11 for an 11 a.m. graveside service with the Rev. Kenny Cole officiating.

Brenda Vickie Greene Cox, 71, of Bean Station, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Buster Jarvis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carl W. Davidson, 62, of Bulls Gap, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at his residence. He was retired from TRW and an avid hunter and golfer.

Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mollie Rose Davidson; brother, Claude Henry Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Morelock Davidson; son, Ian Clay Davidson and wife, Aletheia “Allie” of Morristown; sisters, Delores Jennings and husband, Jack of Wilmington, N.C., Phyllis Canipe and husband, Artie of Kingsport, Ireates Miller of Birmingham, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12 at Holston Electric Cooperative in Rogersville.

Carolyn Ford, 66, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday morning Jan. 5, 2014 at her son’s residence. She was of the primitive Baptist faith. She was employed with the Burger Bar for many years.

She was preceded in death by husband, the Rev. Kenneth R. Ford; father, Edward Roberts; mother, Dorothy Roberts-Trent; brothers, Raymond Roberts and Jerry Glen Roberts.

She is survived by sons, Aubey (Andrea) Ford, Tobey (Rhonda) Ford, Jonathan (Adam Lewis) Ford, Edward (Melissa Helton) Ford; special daughters-in-law, April Ford and Lauressa Ford; grandchildren, Jonathon, Adriannia, Thomas, Elizabeth, Bladon, Nikita, Allie, Gunner, Genesis, Bella and Remington; sister, Kitty (Bill Mayer) McAdow; brother, William (Debbie) Trent; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of UT home health and Caris Hospice for their care.

John Everett Hipshire, 78, of Union City, Ohio went to be with the Lord after a brief illness at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Friends are invited to call Friday, Jan. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home at 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday Jan. 11 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Billy Jack McClain, 80, of White Pine, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at his residence. He was a member and deacon of Full Gospel Tabernacle and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline McClain; and parents, Winston and Ethel McClain.

He is survived by his sons, Richard (Betsy) McClain, James (Lisa) McClain and Donnie (Kim) McClain; daughters, Cheryl (Gerald) Mooneyham, Jacqueline (Ronnie) Bibbins and Larrie Jean (Dennis) Dalton; stepchildren, Chuck, Timmy and Pam; brothers, Eugene (Betty) McClain, Bobby McClain and Paul (Delta) McClain; sister, Judy McClain; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Boling officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Talbott. The Rev. Jimmie L. Smith, 79, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of McBride Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellarie Smith; sons, Michael Smith and Donnie Smith; parents, James and Flora Smith; and granddaughter, Amanda Smith.

He is survived by his sons, the Rev. Lawrence (Peggy) Smith and Steven (Linda) Smith; grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Sonya (Kenny) Helms, Ciji Sweeny and Derek Smith; great-grandchildren, James Smith, Christian Smith, Ethan Smith, Gracelyn Sweeny, Porscha Sweeny, Grayson Smith, Ashton Jones and Gavin Cody; brothers, the Rev. Clarence (Jean) Smith, Doyle Smith, Lee (Shirley) Smith, and Gene Smith; and sister, Shirley Price.

Special thanks to neighbor, Edith Collins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at McBride Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Smith and the Rev. David Rutherford officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at McBride Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at the funeral home.

The Rev. Loyd Stewart, 84, of Sneedville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. He was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stewart and son, Ronnie Stewart

Survivors include children, Kim and Horace Helton of Sneedville, Dennis and Kathy Stewart of Morristown and Fay and Harlis Bradley of Rogersville; grandchildren, April and Elonda Stewart, Lisa Ausband and Chris Bradley;12 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Roberts; brothers, Vol and Frank Stewart; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Shaw officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Ausband, Horace Helton, Michael Dunsmore, Ronnie Kinsler, David Bledsoe and Harlis Bradley
