WSCC now enrolling for 2014 Talented and Gifted Program

Walters State Community College is now enrolling for the 2014 Talented and Gifted Program. TAG serves students in grades five through eight throughout East Tennessee.

The program was one of the first in the state to give students the chance to take advanced classes and work with college professors. This year’s TAG Program meets on Saturday, Jan. 11-Feb. 15 with an extra Saturday in case of snow.

Students choose three classes among 30 choices. The most popular ones are weird science, astronomy, writing, marine biology, foreign languages, robot wars, forensic science, pottery, movie production, acting, music, self-defense, emergency 911 and jewelry design.

The last day to sign up is Dec. 9. Find out if your child qualifies by contacting Nicole Cardwell-Hampton at 423-585-2675 or Nicole. Cardwell-Hampton@ws.edu. The cost is $209, with a $20 discount for additional children from the same family.
