Senators tied for lead at WSCC Fall Golf Classic
Walters State and Tennessee Wesleyan were tied after the first day of the Walters State Fall Golf Classic after both teams shot a 9-over par 297 at The Country Club, Inc., Monday afternoon.
The Senators’ Brad Hawkins shot an impressive 69 at the par 72, 7,055-yard course and appeared to be the leader in the clubhouse until Tennessee Wesleyan’s Josh Wheeler carded an even better 68 later in the day.
Also shooting well at the Senators’ home course was sophomore Ryne Thompson, who finished with a 71 playing as an individual. Rounding out the top five were Lincoln Memorial’s Garrett Metz and Andrew Hall of Walters State, who both shot 72.
