Morristown East High cheerleaders are attempting to make running a bit less scary with the first Hurricane Halloween Hustle Oct. 26 at 5 p.m.

This first annual event is a walk or run 5K race where runners can dress up in any costume they like. Costumes are not required, but they are encouraged.

Registration for the 5K is $25 for early registration or $30 on the day of the race. The event will be hosted at Cherokee State Park, and early registers can pick up their bibs at 4 p.m. while those who plan on registering the day of the race need to be there by 3 p.m.

Early registers will receive a free Hurricane Halloween Hustle shirt. Race day registrants will receive a T-shirt while supplies last, and early registration ends Oct. 19.

All checks can be made payable to East High Cheerleading. Registration forms can be found on Hamblen County Department of Education’s Facebook Page.
