MHHS prepares for annual Girl’s Night Out

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is preparing for its annual Girls’ Night Out, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17.

One of the highlights for this year’s event is a fall fashion show by Kelley Marie Chic Boutique.

“Girls’ Night Out is an evening full of energy, and I definitely want to be part of that,” said Kelley Simpson, owner of the local boutique. When she learned this year’s theme would be “Express Yourself,” Simpson said she knew her clothing and accessories would be the perfect blend for the event.

“Ladies express themselves with what they wear on a daily basis, wherever they go, even at home,” Simpson explained. The fashion show is expected to spark some interest in terms of self-expression.

As for what attendees can expect on the runway, Simpson said, “The Girls’ Night Out show will be full of energy with little verbal description and more music-inspired — after all, music also enhances the opportunity to express ourselves.” She is preparing to “wow” the crowd with a true runway-style show.

With cooler weather and the holidays approaching, viewers will likely see outfits that work for everyone, along with a few elegant and trendy looks. Color and color block, prints and patterns, and plenty of shoes and accessories will be taking over the runway.

“I am super excited to present fashion to ladies in a way that helps them realize they could see themselves in the outfits that will be shown,” Simpson said. “Attendees can expect the unexpected.”

After the show, the boutique will be presenting an up-close-and-personal mingling session. The models will be walking around and allowing attendees the opportunity to get a closer look at the outfits seen on the runway.

At the boutique’s booth, Kelley Marie staff will assist with details, information and providing guests with a chance to sign up for unique door prizes. Simpson has been working directly with Oka-b handcrafted shoes to ensure that one of those door prizes will be a pair of Taylor Flat ballerina style shoes.

“This Oka-b door prize will be especially fun because the winner can craft their own wishes in size and color,” she said.

Kelley Marie Chic Boutique is located at 2412 West Andrew Johnson Highway in the Gardens Shopping Center. It offers a variety of collections for women across the age spectrum, from middle school and up. The store offers unique brands, local artist handcrafted creations, and an inviting atmosphere for shoppers.

Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition to the fashion show, MHHS Girls’ Night Out will feature booths operated by a wide variety of vendors from all over the local community. There will be an art exhibit by The Rose Center and local artists, an Ask the Medical Expert booth hosted by local physicians, and a fitness demonstration by The Main Loft.

Girls Night Out hours are 4 to 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Morristown.

Tickets are available at the hospital’s JBC Gift Shop, the Citizen Tribune or online at www.mhhs1.org/girlsnightout.
