The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) of Tennessee will hold its District I Fall Meeting on Saturday, September 28th at First Presbyterian Church, 600 W. Main Street, Morristown.
The theme for this meeting is “Visioning for the Future”.
District I has 12 clubs in more than 11 counties including the cities of Elizabethton, Erwin, Greeneville, Johnson City, Morristown, Rutledge, Sevierville and Sneedville.
The two Morristown GFWC clubs, Ladies Reading Circle and Somo Sala Circle, will be the hosts.
The day will consist of Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings, followed by a welcome from Hamblen County Mayor, Bill Brittain. The balance of the morning will be spent on District 1 business and discussion regarding the hosting of the upcoming GFWC of Tennessee Spring Convention 2014 to be held in Johnson City.
The afternoon will include lunch and a leadership workshop. Throughout the day there will be opportunities to bid on the silent auction purses and shop our arts & crafts vendors. The meeting will close with door prizes.
District I service project for this meeting will be Tennessee Food on Foot Foundation, serving children in the Lakeway Region. Attendees are asked to bring donations of soup or ravioli with pop-top cans, single serve applesauce or cheese and crackers.
