White Pine aldermen put administrator idea on hold
The White Pine Board of Mayor and Aldermen decided Thursday evening to hold off on the decision to add a city administrator to their team.
They will likely revisit the discussion in a year.
The hotly debated topic brought many White Pine residents to at least three discussions, including a town hall meeting.
Residents argued that their town is fine the way it is.
At the meetings residents gushed over how well the city operates, how much they love their town and how there doesn’t seem to be any problems.
“Are there problems that we are unaware of, that is requiring more of your time as a council that a city administrator is needed?” one resident asked during a meeting.
“I don’t know of any department that is having problems,” Mayor Stanley Wilder replied.
In their arguments to the board, residents expressed concern on whether or not the town could afford a city administrator.
With the discussion halted until next year, residents were asked to start attending more meetings, not just when there is a hot topic on the table.
