Power of the Pink will bring breast health awareness to Tennessee by lighting up the night in pink.
During September and October, Mammography Van events are scheduled to visit designated Wal-Mart locations where uninsured or underinsured women between ages 40 and 64 can receive a free mammogram, courtesy of Power of the Pink and a grant from Susan G. Komen, a pink CFL light bulb, and $5 Wal-Mart gift card.
Mammograms begin at 9 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18 at the Wal-Mart in New Tazewell. To schedule an appointment, contact the University of Tennessee Breast Health Outreach Program at 865-305-9753.
This year marks the fourth year for the Power of the Pink program with a goal of contributing $300,000 to local breast health initiatives throughout participating regions.
