WSCC’s Division of Continuing Education prepares host of classes for small businesses
Walters State Community College’s Division of Continuing Education has a diverse group of courses beginning in June, ranging from self defense to Microsoft excel and media production for small businesses.
The following courses are scheduled on the college’s Morristown campus:
Media Production for Small Businesses — meets on Mondays, June 3-July 8, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Learn how to effectively use digital software in marketing and branding. Class covers the basics of media production including social media. Cost is $159.
Microsoft Excel 2010 Level 3 — meets June 3 and 10, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Course builds on skills taught in level 1. Students will work with advanced formulas and learn data functions.
Self Defense — June 19 and 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. The class teaches defensive tactics for all skill levels utilizing simple, effective and proven techniques. The class is for men and women over the age of 12. Cost is $60 per person.
The following class is offered on the college’s Sevier County Campus:
Microsoft Excel 2010 Graphing 101 — June 12, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Graphing can be a powerful tool, displaying numeric data in a easyto-read visual. Students will create basic charts including columns, bars and pie charts, then explore graphing options and formatting tricks. The course fee is $59.
The following class will meet in the community room of the Newport Utilities Board:
Lunch and Learn, Cornerstone Building — June 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn the hidden aspects of teambuilding by working together through some fun and practical activities. The cost is $25 and includes lunch.
The following class will meet at the Greene Technology center on Hal Hendard Road:
Parents, Children and Divorce, — June 20, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The class is court-ordered for divorcing parents. Learn how a child views divorce and discover new ways of communicating with your child about the divorce. Also covered is how new relationships affect children.
