‘Light it up Blue’ kicks off with Autism Awareness Day

In an effort to shine a light on Autism, there will be an Autism Awareness Day on March 30, the day before National Autism Awareness Month and the beginning of the “Light it up Blue” campaign organized by Autism speaks.org.

The beginning steps to helping those with Autism is education and awareness.  Funds raised at this event will go toward the purchase of an iPad for an autistic child in the community and additional monies raised will be donated to Autism Speaks.

For more information, contact Miranda Jackson at 865-809-0438 or mirandajackson58@yahoo.com.  The event will consist of speakers, educational handouts, a fun walk, T-shirt sales, performance from the Sunshine Ambassadors, a balloon release, light refreshments, and other activities.
