RAYMOND CARL BLANKEN

Raymond Carl Blanken, age 64, of Bybee, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grainger County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Willie and Myrtle Blanken; son, Timmy Blanken; brothers, Grant, J.R. and Paul Blanken and a sister, Dorothy Martin.

Survived by daughter, Lisa Salyor and husband, Mike; granddaughter, Misa Salyor; and daughter, Amy; long-time companion of 25 years, Georgia Dover; step-daughters, Pamela Dover, who lived in the home and cared for him alongside her mother and Melissa Lloyd and husband, William; five granddaughters, Christina Lloyd, Rebecca Lloyd, Amy Lloyd, Madison Dover and Georan Raines; brothers, Dean and wife, Betty Blanken, Elmer Blanken and companion, Theresa of Morristown; sister, Ruth Douthat and husband, Rex of Mohawk; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 prior to the funeral service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Wilson and the Rev. Greg Douthat officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

EVELYN E. CHANDLER

Evelyn E. Chandler, age 97, of White Pine, passed away at Jefferson County Nursing Home on March 12, 2013. She was a member of First Baptist Church of White Pine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Chandler; parents, Hugh Taylor Yates and Elizabeth McNabb Yates.

Survivors include her son, Tim Chandler; niece, Gail (Ron) Fell of Stone Mountain, Ga.; nephew, Tracy L. Trent, and niece, Elizabeth L Fell. She also had five great-nieces and nephews that Evelyn considered her grandchildren, and several other nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, with the Rev. Brian Osborne officiating. Graveside Interment will be held on Friday, March 15 in White Pine Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Raymond C. Crawley, age 66, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

Deborah J. Duvall, 54, of Bean Station passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the chapel of Mayes Family Services, Downtown and funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will meet Friday, March 15 at Noeton Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service.

Jeff Lowel Kinkead, age 44, of White Pine, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14 with burial to follow in Shelton Family Cemetery, Cosby. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.

DEWEY ‘RED’ LEDFORD

Dewey “Red” Ledford, 70, of Morristown, passed away at his home Monday, March 11, 2013 surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by son, Tracy Ledford; father and mother, Clyde and Virgie Ledford; brother, Alfred Ledford and sister, Betty Sue Duncan.

He is survive d by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Long Ledford; daugther, Sandra Collins and fiance’, Scott; son, Bobby Coffey and wife, Tina; 11 grandchildren, Nathan Ledford, Alicia Collins, Sara Jarnigan and fiance’, Wes, Justin Crum, Brittany Brady, Bobby, Christopher, Brooke and Madison Coffey, Holy Morgan and Michael Wilder; four great-grandchildren, Grace Lee-Ann Ivy, Mason Dale Ivy, Case Brady, Aden Coffey; two brothers, Bud and Thurman Ledford; two sisters, Mae Fowler and Nancy Stuart; special niece, Wendy Ellis.

“Red” was a member of Greene’s Chapel Church. He enjoyed a long and successful racing career and loved meeting his fans, especially his long-time fans.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 14 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Greene officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery on Jaybird Road.

Peggy Jean Miller, age 72, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Mary S. Morgan, 95, of Morristown passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at The Heritage Center Nursing Home.

FREDA MARLENE PHELPS (HERN)

Freda Marlene Phelps (Hern), age 67, of Blaine, passed away March 10, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carson and Mary Phelps; sister, Brenda Faye; brothers, Ronald (Scooter), Doyal Wayne (Gomer), Marshall Ray (Sugar Bear), Charles (Dragger); sister, Dorothy and best friend, Granville Major.

She is survived by her husband, K.C. Hern of Blaine and her devoted children; daughter, Cathy Reynolds of Rutledge; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Denise Morgan of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tony Williams of Blaine; son, Robert Major of Bean Station and her most beloved nephew, Jason Phelps of Blaine. She lives on through her most precious grandbabies, Lara Reynolds of Rutledge, Corey Morgan of Springfield, Mo., Erica Wichman of Fayetteville, Ark., Cameron and Hannah Williams of Blaine and Sarah Major of Bean Station. She will also be dearly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Phelps of Blaine; sister, Bonnie Williams of Rutledge; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Mildred Phelps of Rutledge and sisters-in-law, Joyce Phelps of Rutledge and Cindy Phelps Nelson of Blaine, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a celebration of her life at 8 p.m. in the chapel at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Mary’s Chapel UMC Cemetery.

Louise G. Smith, age 88, of White Pine, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Newport News, Va.

Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
