The Rotary Club of Morristown, HC*EXCELL and Partners Core Skill Development Program recently co-sponsored the Girls Inc. Mother Daughter Pajama/Spa Day at Girls Incorporated in Morristown.
The event was held to provide an opportunity for the students to learn how to strengthen their reading skills and for mothers to learn how to help and support their daughters’ in this pursuit.
In addition to activities including manicures, hair and makeup tips and cookie decorating, the day also included books to read and storytelling.
HC*EXCELL Reading Specialist Eva Thompson worked with Girls Inc. to help develop the day’s activities.
The event was held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 23 and included a visit from the Morristown-Hamblen Public Library staff, the Imagination Library and storyteller Gregg Harrell.
