Hobby to appear at The Fret Store for book signing
Local author Larry Hobby will be at The Fret Store Music and Art Gallery Saturday, Feb. 9 from noon to 2 p.m. for a book signing for his book “Images of America – Morristown, TN,” which features more than 200 historical images of Morristown.
The book was so popular it was previously sold out in local outlets.
“Anyone who lives in Morristown who appreciates our rich history and culture will absolutely love this book as it contains pictures and stories of the past rarely seen. I have studied the pictures in this book for hours and am amazed at how much can be learned from them.” said event organizer, Darrell Williams.
A portion of the sales of each book goes to support the work of The Hamblen County Archives, which is a volunteer organization preserving County records and historical information in the basement of the Hamblen County Courthouse.
In addition to the book signing, there will be live music featuring, Joy Goodman on piano and fl ute and Myra Cardenas singing with her guitar. They are both music teachers at The Fret Store. The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
The Fret Store Music and Art Gallery is located at 101 East Main Street on the corner of East Main and S. Cumberland St in the old Bank of Commerce building. For information, contact Darrell Williams at 423-581-3280.
