WSOP event coming to Harrah’s Cherokee in April
CHEROKEE, N.C. —The World Series of Poker Circuit Event is on its way to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort April 4-15. This is the first major poker tournament ever held in North Carolina. The tournament is open to anyone wanting to play and registration is available at the event.
“We’re eagerly anticipating the visit by the World Serious of Poker Circuit Event in April, as it will put Harrah’s Cherokee on the world stage and showcase the Southeast’s largest resort destination,” said Brooks Robinson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Cherokee.
Each WSOP Circuit location enables poker players – including pro, semi-pros, and amateurs – the chance to test their skills and advance to the championship fi nale to be held at Harrah’s New Orleans in May. Games include No Limit Hold-’em and Pot-Limit Omaha.
Like all other WSOP Circuit events, there are 12 official gold ring events. There are also small poker tournaments, with lower buy-ins as well as satellites into the bigger events. Two players will automatically qualify from Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort – first the winner of the Main Event Championship, and second the Casino Champion who accumulates the most points in the dozen gold rings events played over the course of the series.
All players must be at least 21-years-old and have valid identifi cation.
