NFAC to offer free Milligan art exhibit
The Nelson Fine Art Center in Johnson City will feature a free exhibition of art and photography by Milligan College fine arts students in February.
The exhibit, “Art from the Buffalo School,” opens Feb. 1, with a reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“Student work can be fresh and emotional and, as a result, it challenges our viewers,” Nelson Fine Art Center owner Dick Nelson said.
This is the 11th year Milligan students have participated in “Art from the Buffalo School.”
The Milligan fine arts department offers five areas of emphasis: art, film studies, music, photography and theater.
“The fine arts major at Milligan encourages students to strive for the highest standard of artistic excellence,” associate art professor Alice Anthony said. “(The students) are very gifted … artists, and we’re happy to have their work featured at the Nelson Gallery.”
