Kay Murphy, local artist, has been awarded first place in the Members’ Art Show by the Morristown Art Association for her watercolor entitled “Shenandoah, Daughter of the Winter Stars.” Through voting by her peers, this is the second consecutive year the Morristown Art Association Members has selected Kay as the first place awards recipient.
Kay has been a professional artist for more than 30 years, selling her art at shows and festivals. Equine art and the southwestern style have captured her brushes for many years but one never knows what new subject is on the horizon.
Her work has been licensed to many greeting card publishers over the years. Kay loves designing cards; she works in watercolor, acrylics, oils, scratchboard and colored pencils. Her art can be found on her website, blog and on-line stores, and at The Rose Center Gallery in Morristown.
The MAA Members’ Art Show is on display through the end of January at the M o r r i s t ow n – H a m b l e n Library. Bobby Baxley and Jacquelin Price were awarded second and third place, respectively. For more information about the MAA, visit www. morristownart.com or call 423-312-8325.
