Purkeys celebrate 40th

Doyle and Annetha Purkey celebrated their 40th anniversary on Jan. 5th 2013. They were married on Jan. 5th 1973 at Morningside Baptist Church by the Rev. Buddy White. They are avid hikers and just completed their 50th trail in pursuit of hiking all 150 trails in the Great Smoky Mtns. They are the parents of two daughters, Merrill (Gene) Sampson, and Pamela (Harold) Jones. Their grandchildren are Alyssa Jones and Brent Sampson.
