Walters State Community College will offer a free, pre-semester computer course for spring students.
The purpose of the class is to ensure students start the semester with skills they’ll need to use a computer and work with software used in WSCC classrooms.
The class will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, in the tutoring lab. The lab is located in room 107 on the lower level of the Student Services Building. Students will learn the WSCC log-in process and how to do Internet searches. The class will also prepare them to work with eLearn, StarNet and StarMail, which are software programs used in classrooms and for registration. StarMail is the official method WSCC communicates with students regarding financial aid, grades and other matters. No reservation is required for the class.
