WSCC holding auditions for ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

 Walters State Community College’s Music and Theatre Department has announced its fall semester production: “Little Shop of Horrors.

 The rock musical centers around a florist who raises a plant that feeds on human flesh.

 The production is scheduled for November. This will be the first play directed by T.J. Kent, an instructor of theatre who just joined the college this semester.

 Auditions are planned from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, and Thursday, Sept. 27 in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the Morristown campus. Auditions are open to the community.

 Those seeking to audition should memorize and perform a monologue no longer than 60 seconds and be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song.

 Kent said each individual may select the song he or she will perform at the audition. Take the sheet music if possible as an accompanist will be available.
