Community holds various cultural events
Arts in the Park is held annually in September at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, which offers a unique overview of the city of Morristown. Members of the Morristown Art Association and guest artists exhibit and sell their works along the walkways of the park, while live performances are held on two stages. Food vendors and art-related activities for children are also featured.
The Main Street Festival, a block party held several times a year, began in 2008. It takes place downtown and features a car show, live music, concessions and more.
Pickin’ in the Park, an acoustic jam session held on the grounds of Fred Miller Park, takes place Thursday evenings May through September, rain or shine. The goals of Pickin’ in the Park are to help musicians learn more about their craft and to preserve East Tennessee’s rich musical heritage.
