Step back in time on Friday, Nov. 23 at Historic Rugby for the annual Thanksgiving Marketplace and British Cream Tea.
A special treat at Thanksgiving Marketplace is a delightful British Cream Tea served at the 1880s Inn, Newbury House. Join us for traditional teas and delicious sweets fireside in the parlor surrounded by festive holiday decorations. Tea will be served at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Eastern (12:00 & 2:00 Central). Reservations are advised for this very popular event.
Kick off your holiday shopping for unique gifts from friendly local artists demonstrating their crafts: Sue Duncan, spinning and weaving; Gail Hall, rug hooking; Mhairi Gehlar, one-of-a-kind handmade dolls; Linda Asberry, recycled silverware jewelry, Mara Trumbo, oil painting, and Debra Redden, ornaments and dolls. Plus, the welcoming shopkeepers of the Rugby Commissary, Spirit of Red Hill, The Shoppe at Zenith Cottage, and The Carriage House Gallery are stocked and ready for your holiday shopping. Tour five historic buildings and see our award winning film and mural at the Rugby Visitor Centre.
The Harrow Road Cafe will be open from 8:30 a.m. with seating for dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 8:45 pm Eastern Time serving your favorite meals and desserts. Come to the Visitor Centre for site admission and tours, $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for senior citizens 60 and above, $3.00 for students. Children under 6 and Historic Rugby members are admitted free. Thanksgiving Marketplace hours are 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time; the Café remains open until 9:00 pm.
