Some of East Tennessee’s most important cultural heritage sites, including those that comprise Historic Homes of Knoxville, are partnering to celebrate Statehood Day on Saturdays, May 26 and June 2. All of the sites are historically significant in Tennessee’s becoming the 16th state in 1796. Each individual site will celebrate the birth of Tennessee by offering free tours to the public in addition to special events.
Marble Springs and Crescent Bend are participating May 26, with Marble Springs hosting a 2-day event (Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27). Blount Mansion, James White’s Fort, Mabry-Hazen House and Ramsey House are June 2.
