BRISTOL, Tenn. – Hall of Fame sportswriter, commentator and novelist Frank Deford will speak on “Sports: The Hype and the Hypocrisy” at King University on Tuesday, Jan. 28 as part of the Buechner Institute’s 2013-2014 Lecture Series. The series is co-sponsored by the Bristol Herald Courier.
A joint venture between King’s Office of Development and the Buechner Institute, Deford’s lecture will take place during a fundraising event for King University’s Annual Fund for Scholarships & Programs. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at King University’s Maclellan Hall.
Ticket prices for King’s Frank Deford event are $30 per individual or $200 per table of eight. Table sponsors will be recognized in the program and during pre-speech introductions. The event will be held in King University’s Maclellan Hall dining room. The cost of admission includes dinner and an autograph session.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Annual Fund for Scholarships & Programs, which is one of the primary sources for direct scholarship assistance for King students.
