Holiday Open House at the Museum of East Tennessee History

Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

 

Cookies and apple cider will warm the day at the East Tennessee Historical Society’s Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 8.  Activities include live musical performances, craft demonstrations, free ornament and craft making for the kids, cookies and hot cider. Shoppers will enjoy browsing the great selection of traditional gifts, history books, and children’s items, as well as a selection of handmade primitive items by Corn Cob Cove.

Visitors are also invited to tour the new feature exhibitions Common People in Uncommon Times: The Civil War Experience in Tennessee and In Death Not Divided: Civil War Tombstones and the Stories They Tell, as well as the permanent exhibition Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee.  All events are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The Museum of East Tennessee History is located at the East Tennessee History Center, 601 S.
