MacAdam to Lecture at UT Knoxville School of Art

Thursday, September 27, 2012: Barbara MacAdam — Barbara A. MacAdam is deputy editor of ARTnews, where she has worked since 1987. She has also served as executive editor of Art + Auction, and was an editor at Review: Latin American Literature and Arts and New York magazine. She has written on design for ID magazine, reviewed books on art and literature for the LA Times Book Review, Newsday, and The New York Times Book Review, and has written for numerous other magazines and newspapers on art, design, and literature. She is a board member of the International Art Critics Association and of the Arts Arena of the University of Paris, and has curated numerous national exhibitions. Her current project, “Pencil Pushed,” focuses on the fundamental role of drawing in thinking about art and perception.

Ms. MacAdam will be lecturing at 7:30 in the McCarty Auditorium, room 109 of the Art and Architecture building. The opening reception for Pencil Pushed will immediately follow the lecture in the Ewing Gallery.

On Friday, September 28th ath 12:30 pm in the McCarty Auditorium, Ms. MacAdam will moderate a discussion panel on drawing. Panelists inlude:
