When:
March 27, 2012 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Morristown Art Association will meet at Rose Center in Morristown.

Guest artist will be John Tipton who will present “Hand Painting on Black and White Photography. Tipton has been a photographer in East Tennessee for more than 50 years and has released a new book, “Smoky Mountain Home,” featuring the historic buildings in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Tipton does most of his work on an old 4×5 wood camera on film, not digital. In addition, he does all of his darkroom and printing the traditional way. His hand coloring on the black and white photographs are all with oil paints.

Tipton’s  book took over 6 years to complete and resulted in many miles on the trails. During this process, he found many buildings that he never knew existed. The book can be viewed on www.Blurb.com (search by author).
