Several contributors will read selections from the book at the event, which will be open to the public, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street in Fort Sanders. A $2 donation is requested at the door. The building is handicapped accessible. Additional parking is available at Redeemer Church of Knoxville, 1642 Highland Ave.

The anthology is a collection of poetry and prose from teenagers across East Tennessee. The title, “Love, Angst, and the Death of Innocence,” reflects the book’s three themes, which were selected because of their relevance to adolescence.

One of the anthology editors, Erin Atchley, said love and angst are fairly universal experiences, but “the death of innocence” is a rite of passage unique to each individual.
