When:
May 5, 2012 @ 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The Glenmore Garden Market will be held Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In its 13th year, the annual Garden Market raises funds for the restoration and maintenance of historic Glenmore Victorian Mansion in Jefferson City.
Glenmore Chapter APTA will open the 2012 tour season as it has since the 1970s with the spring celebration. After more than 20 years, Glenmore is still the place to be on the first Saturday in May.
The name was changed some time back from Spring Fling to Garden Market, but the purpose is still the same – to celebrate the opening of the tour season for Jefferson County’s only historic house museum open to the public.
Available at the market will be flowers and plants from members’ gardens, as well as nursery plants. Herbs – dried and fresh – and herbal products will be available. Also available will be local strawberries to take home and enjoy. While at the Garden Market have a slice of homemade pound cake topped with strawberries in the Tea Time Tent.
Enjoy the day strolling through the vendor booths filled with garden related items. Take this opportunity to tour the 1869 Second Empire Victorian Architecture. The Dolltown Gift Shop will be open to find that one of a kind bargain.
