ETTAC Hosts Literacy Workshop (for students w/disabilities)

Ruth Boxley from Text Help will be at East Tennessee Technology Access Center’s Knoxville office,116 Childress St. on August 23, from 1 to 5 p.m.

She will demonstrate Read and Write Gold and Fluency Tutor, products designed to increase literacy skills.

Read and Write Gold is a suite of programs which support students who struggle with reading and writing.  Read and Write Gold provides text to speech for writing and additional supports for word prediction, research, web access and completion of written work for Common Core standards. Read and Write Gold ensures that every reader and writer has the literacy support necessary to reach their potential and achieve independence.

Fluency Tutor is designed for developing or struggling readers, towards the end goal of becoming a fluent reader. Fluency Tutor can remove those barriers while helping teachers individualize instruction and measure oral reading fluency and comprehension.

Both products will be used in ETTAC’s new Reading Lab, funded in part by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.  Come and learn more about these products at the free August 23 workshop and learn how to participate in the Reading Lab.
